Oh yes, after more than eight years building my own website using Dreamweaver to build it and Hostmonster to host it, I decided to make things a little easier on myself HAHHAHA. I decided first to go the Websitebuilder.com route and I did indeed build a nice-looking website. Trouble was I couldn’t link it to my blog (which by then had completely disappeared) or my email. The result? Four days wasted, down the toilet. So, I cancelled that account and on advice from Godaddy, I went the WordPress route. Now I’ve been using WP for my blog for years and I thought I knew something about it. Boy was I ever wrong? After almost two days I do have a website, barely, and I can blog, although my previous efforts have followed the four wasted days down the pan. HEHEHE laughing like a lunatic. All of my links are gone. All of the images that were loaded into my previous version of WP. This version is totally different from the one I was used to, and to build a website in WP is, for me, a more formidable task than the Donald’s great wall. It’s up. It’s running, but it looks like sh… it looks like my dog Zoe built it. I have a lot of work to do before I can get it how I wan’t it. Wanna take a peek? Oh no, please don’t. Yer tis: www.blairhoward.com
The moral of this sad tale? IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT! And I should know better. I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve had hard drives crash and lost… well, you get the idea. Now I back everything up…. everything that is except my website and blog. From now on though…. hahaha, and if you believe that, I have some swampland in Florida you might like to buy from me.
Keep the faith, my friends; keep the faith.
